El Puente’s 38th Annual Three Kings, 2024
The 38th Annual Three Kings Celebration, “Planting a Seed,” an immersive, multidisciplinary artistic offering, was a reflection on how the land survives and has supported our own survival. This work was collectively created by the El Puente Arts and Cultural Organizing Collective, made up of artists and organizers from all programs of El Puente through a process of visioning, cultivation and creation with each other and with our youth members. We explored grief and loss, a celebration of community, collective self-determination and the joy of imagining a world beyond this one.
El Puente’s 36th Annual Three Kings, 2022
Through our theme of “Remembering We Are of the Earth,” community artists came together to construct an elaborate theatre set made entirely from cardboard, paper, and papier-mâché. The immersive theater experience followed the pilgrimage of the three kings through the terrains of our planet, reminding the audience that we are the stewards of the earth who must fight for our collective future.
